Rebecca Plotnick Photography

Rebecca Plotnick has been shooting photography for over 10 years.  Starting in the dark room with 35mm she has expanded to the digital world.

Photography is her passion. She loves capturing moments that people would normally pass by without taking notice.  Her photography gives people the opportunity to linger over the beauty of life a little longer.  While much of her work has been based on scenes from her local farmer's market, she has been expanding her portfolio of travel photography with recent trips to Italy, England, Israel and most recently Paris.

If you are local in Chicago you can find her selling at the Wilmette Farmers Market all summer long Saturdays 8 am - 1pm

Tell me about how you originally got into your craft, Rebecca.
I started with photography classes in high school. All 4 years I spent in the darkroom developing film. I didn't take a photography class in college till senior year. After a few years being away from photography I became friends with an amazing person and photographer. He is my best friend and has inspired me to pick up the camera.

What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
Travel Europe.

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your business?
Finding enough time in the day. I want to do the creative part but I also have to focus on the business side. I work a full time job 50 hrs a week aside from running my business. I am looking forward to "quitting my day job" in the near future.

When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
I wanted to own a luxury hotel.

What item in your shop would you most like to receive as a gift if someone were shopping for you?
Any of my Paris pictures.

What other artists out there do you love?

What does your future hold?
I would love to continue to do my photography and move to Europe. I am looking into either Italy down south or on the coast or Paris.
