The Jewelry Workroom

The Jewelry Workroom offers a collection of sophisticated, handcrafted jewelry created by artisan Pat Dippre.

Tell me about how you originally got into your craft, Pat.
A friend asked me if I wanted to take some beading classes with her, and I was hooked! I had always loved the thoughts of designing. You know, interior decorating, switching up accessories to stretch my wardrobe, things like that. So this just opened a whole world of design ideas and opportunities to me.

What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
SHOP! Hey, I'm a woman, most women I know love to shop. That's not to say I buy things every time, I am perfectly happy to "window shop." I go through the stores (or magazines and catalogs) and admire beautiful things. I like to replicate a look without spending big bucks. I LOVE stores like TJMaxx and Home Goods. As I get older I find myself looking more at items for my home, more so than for myself...hmmm, wait, I do look at jewelry-constantly-and never tire of that!

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your shop?
Promoting it! Hands down, that is the most difficult and time consuming, at least for me it is.

What item in your shop would you most like to receive as a gift if someone were shopping for you?
There is a triple strand that I adore. When I look at it, I just smile from the inside out and that's how I would feel wearing it!

When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
I didn't think of myself working outside of the home. When I was growing up, my Mom, was a stay at home mom. Many were back then. I love what I'm doing now, my jewelry, plus a full time job as Administrative assistant to a school nurse, who is an absolute DOLL!

What other shops or artists out there do you love?
Oh gosh, there are so many talented artists at Etsy! I have to say though, my favorite is Tummy Mountain, I just adore her artwork, it's so true to life! She does her work with so much fun, love (and mischief), you can just see it all coming through those happy little faces!

What does your future hold?
Many, many jewelry sales (I hope)!!!!
