Along with original paintings and prints of the paintings, Moulton also regularly produces commissioned work for clients. Home portraits, special locations, or images that he has on file.

Tell me more about the gallery, Josh.
My new gallery is located in a great part of Lincoln Park. Very close to the park and lake...and on a great street with a mix of commercial spaces and residential homes. I am very excited to take this big step in my career as I realized the exposure to everyone in Chicago is what my business needs. I have successfully built my career/art business over the years with steady sales, corporate collections, gallery representation, etc. Now it is time to make sure everyone knows about it.

I have something for everyone. I do not want people to be discouraged if they cannot afford a $6,000 original painting. If they like my paintings....I like them.  So, there are small matted prints, large framed prints, etc.

What inspired you to start this project?
I was really outgrowing my home. It was no longer feasible or professional to have clients come view everything in my house and basement. I have always dreamed of having my own I did something about it.

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your business?
Just making sure I get enough marketing, PR, exposure. Word of mouth and walk by traffic is great, but I need the media outlets to cover the gallery too.

To what extent is your community involved with this project?  How has it influenced your mission?
I have been told by residents in the area that they are very excited and happy that I opened my gallery here. The Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce has been very helpful and enthusiastic about my space.

What other artists out there do you love?
My Father, Conrad Moulton.

Winslow Homer, Hopper, Gustave Caillebotte, gerhard richter

What does your future hold?
I was just commissioned to produce 3 big paintings for a hospital in New Lenox, IL. I have shows around the country and some sales overseas. I am just going to keep producing and make sure everyone sees it.
