Sir Castanon

Originally from Denver, CO, 13 year-old Sir Castanon knew he was destined to perform. Singing at home as a toddler, he began his professional music career at age 11, writing songs and developing his unique image.

Inspired by the unapologetic avant garde of Lady Gaga and the showmanship of Adam Lambert, Sir Castanon feels strongly about having the element of theater in his music. In addition to his songwriting skills and vocal prowess, he also personally designs all his dramatic stage attire. As he puts it, “Anybody can be a singer if they wanted to, but I work my hardest to be a true artist.”

Sir Castanon now calls Los Angeles home and divides his time between music and his successful acting career. He starred in the hit comedy Click alongside Adam Sandler, and he has extensive TV credits, including NCIS, The Ghost Whisperer, ER and Crossing Jordan. He also appeared with Val Kilmer in Commanche Moon, the prequel to Lonesome Dove.

Combining undeniable pop hooks with a flair for the dramatic, Sir Castanon is nothing short of a household name in the making.

How do you describe your music to people?
I sing Pop/Dance music mainly. If you love to have a good time and party... then I think you would like my music!

Tell me about how you originally got into your craft.
I have always loved to sing, but I felt that I wanted to pursue it as a career when I was 11. Performing is the perfect way to express yourself and I am so happy to be able to perform.

What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
I love to sing, act, and dance, but my favorite thing to do, besides those things, is to design. I find fashion another amazing way to express your feelings and personality!

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your business?
Compromising. Sometimes my performance ideas are a little too extravagant, so I have to tone it down once in a while.

When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
I remember in my Kindergarten play, I stated that I wanted to be the president. Now that I am grown more, I realized how difficult it really is.

In what way has your community impacted your development as a musician?
Both of my parents have a huge love for music! My mom is an amazing singer and she really inspires me when it comes to the creativity of my performances. My dad is an incredible drawer and he really impacted me by watching him draw. He showed me how to create dimensions and it's something that I always use in my fashion drawings.

What other artists out there do you love?
I really enjoy listening and watching Lady Gaga & Adam Lambert (of course), but I also enjoy listening to the classics like Frank Sinatra & Etta James. For me, that time period in music was very influencial because it has inspired so many artists that we listen to today!

What does your future hold?
Well, my first album, Puppeteer, was just released, so I am very excited to see what happens with that. I have been studying a lot of performers lately, trying to enhance my own performances and I was recently nominated for "Pop Artist Of The Year" and "Pop Single Of The Year" at the L.A. Music Awards! So excited!
