Tell me about how you originally got into your craft.
I've been altering thrift store garments and creating ballet costumes since I was a child. In high school I got into screen printing and ran a small screen printing business for over 7 years. I made a lot of t shirts for local and national bands. Then I got into reconstructing the band tees for girls who wanted a more feminine/sexy fit and that really catapulted me into sewing garments from scratch. As the years went by and I grew into a designer and I realized that making clothing was what I was meant to do.
What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
Besides creating clothing!? Terrorizing Richmond, Virginia's night life with my amazing friends! They are my muses!
What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your business?
I'd really like to advertise more, but my budget is seriously limited at this point.
What item in your shop would you most like to receive as a gift if someone were shopping for you?
My lace bralette cover ups! Im notorious for wearing super low cut shirts! My bra is showing in 90% of all photos of me! HAHA I actually created these for girls like me! If your bra's going to show it should be decorative, lacey, and sparkly!
When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
A ballerina, a writer, a movie star, a rock star, and a costume designer. All at once. Still do!
What other artists out there do you love?
Dismantled Fashions! Her design proportions and tailoring are immpeccable. I swear her dresses make me look 5 pounds thinner! haha
What does your future hold?
Designing and creating on a larger scale! Im also working on creating my own textiles!
