The band is made up of 5 friends with the common ambition to write timeless hard driving songs with huge hooks to go along with their edgy guitar lines & dynamic rhythm section.  The band recently played to a sold out crowd at the Blender theatre and pride themselves on their captivating live show.

How do you describe your music to people, Rene?

Static Summer is music to turn up your radio in your car, sing loud & drive fast.

Tell me about how you originally got into your craft.
I wanted to play music since I can remember going to school in the 5th grade watching Mtv all day. Thats when they actually still played videos then.

What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
My favorite thing to do is spend time with my wife daughter & my family.

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your business?
I guess the biggest challenge in music is balancing my life with my ambitions on where we wanna be with the band. I don't think anyone really knows what kind of sacrifice it is to balance family, jobs, Music. I don't sleep & we have to battle for every inch we get.

When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
A singer in a rock band.

In what way has your community impacted your development as a musician?
We'll we all pretty much grew up in a working middle class families. So we pretty much were raised on the "if you want something you have to work for it" ethic.

What other artists out there do you love?
I love so much music that's a hard question. You'd understand if you saw my cd collection & how much music I have on my hard drive. I actually still buy music too. So let's see I love The Cure, Depeche Mode, Helmet, Alice in Chains, Guns&Roses, Fugazi, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Joy Division, Zepplin, The Who, The Beatles, The Clash, Bon Jovi (yeah i said that), Quicksand, Drive Like Jehu, Glassjaw, some of the newer bands I love are The Bravery, My Chemical Romance, Rise Against, The Killers, Phoenix, Queens of the Stone Age, Jimmy Eat World, Gaslight Anthem, Jesse Malin, Interpol, Papa Roach, Muse.
I got to hang with Springsteen over the Summer & it made me love his music so much more to know he's such a nice guy. I've also gotten to hang with another guy I grew up looking up to & he was such a not nice guy. I can't listen to his band like I used to.

What does your future hold?
Making a living doing what I love which is making & playing music with my  friends in my band.
