Tell me about how you originally got into your craft, Josh.
I've been painting my whole life. My Father was a well known illustrator in NYC during the 40's, 50's and 60's. I've been painting full-time as my profession for over 8 yrs. now.
What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
Travel, paint, and collect saltwater and freshwater fish.
What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your business?
Bay Window |
This happens to be the reason I started having large and small prints produced of my work. They are more accessible for buyers and sales are more frequent.
What item in your shop would you most like to receive as a gift if someone were shopping for you?
A big, original painting.
When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
An artist. Always knew I would be a painter. Although, I almost became a Veterinarian.
My good friend Brooke Isabell produces terrific jewelry.
My other friend is a fantastic photographer, Andrew Weeks.
What does your future hold?
Hopefully, my future holds the consistent sales of my work so that I can continue to paint for a living. So far so good. I look toward having my work in museums, more corporate collections and more gallery representation around the globe.
My future also holds my first child coming this April!!!
