Melissa of MadeWithClayAndLove creates one-of-a-kind designs with polymer clay.

Tell me about how you originally got into your craft, Melissa.
I was browsing online and stumbled upon polymer clay art dolls. I knew I had to try to make one! So, after much research and preparation, I purchased the supplies and created my first hand-sculpted baby. Since then, I have moved on to create various sculptures and jewelry with polymer clay.

What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
Spend time with my husband, and sculpt!

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your shop?
Photos! I am by no means a photographer. I'm a total perfectionist, so I am never satisfied with them.

What item in your shop would you most like to receive as a gift if someone were shopping for you?
My Aqua Lover's Delight Necklace. I absolutely love this color, and the necklace is so pretty!

When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a teacher. Also, I secretly wanted to become an actress!

What other shops or artists out there do you love?
Wow, there are so many other talented artists out there that it is difficult to choose just one! But, I do love thedryingrack. This etsian makes cute and colorful little felted creations and I just love her fun shop. I purchased a little red loveseat from her to sit next to my red couch, and it is just adorable!

What does your future hold?
I will be expanding beyond my shop and selling my creations locally through craft fairs and the like. I also plan to contact local stores about carrying my products, so I am very excited about that!
