faux shiz*

Ricky Ricardo of faux shiz* designs simple, cool pendants laser cut out of board. His love of the sharp, the clean, and the uncluttered shines through in his work.

Tell me about how you originally got into your craft.
My best friend, and now craft partner, Emily had always been into making necklaces out of odd bits and pieces and introduced me to the whole Etsy marketplace. I study Landscape Architecture and make a lot of conceptual models, often with a laser cutter, and this is what really got me into making craft. So we joined forces and now here we are!

What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
hmmm. I would have to say cycling at night, or maybe just travel.

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your shop?
Finding time to really sit down and put the work in. It's really a holiday hobby at the moment still.

What item in your shop would you most like to receive as a gift if someone were shopping for you?
Definitely the cube!

When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
Actually an architect or a town planner! Which is funnily enough what I am studying right now. I blame Sim City for that...

What other shops or artists out there do you love?
www.ruffeoheartslilsnoty.etsy.com
Awesome technicolor fashion! These guys are very cool.

What does your future hold?
Hopefully lots and lots of travel. I'm off to Germany in 4 weeks, and hopefully moving to Europe to study next year some time.
