Attic Rat

Teresa of Attic Rat loves to hunt up vintage, flea market, and wonderful attic finds.

Tell me about how you originally got interested in vintage goods, Teresa.
Vintage goods seem to have higher quality than what is available at the stores now. They also have more character and charm. Vintage goods have stood the test of time and carry stories with them. If only we could get them to speak . . .

What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
I love church rummage sales. They are my favorite. You never know what you will find there. Good things are mixed in with the everyday ordinary. It is the thrill of the hunt. I go armed with my shopping bags or grab a box at the door and off I go.

If I get a chance, I don't pass up a good estate sale. I have found things dating back to the 1800's at estate sales. My favorite was a sale I went to a couple of years ago. I would love to go to another like that one.

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your shop?
Turning loose of the treasures I find. I want to keep them for myself!

What item in your shop would you most like to receive as a gift if someone were shopping for you?
Just give me an assortment of cool items and I will be as happy as a clam

When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
I've always wanted to be an artist.

What other shops or artists out there do you love?
Curiosity Outfitters

Linda Crispell

Other People's Flowers

Dime Store Emporium

What does your future hold?
I plan to expand my shop to carry more of those interesting and fun items that can be used in art.
