Nontrendy

Jess of Nontrendy makes stuff. Mostly shirts and some other stuff. With stencils. They're pretty awesome. She's kind of a woman of few words, but she agreed to talk to us anyway.

Tell me about how you originally got into your craft, Jess.
Stenciling started when I wanted to make some birthday gifts for my friends. They were linoleum block printed shirts. However, the results weren't quite what I wanted. Somehow (I don't remember how), I stumbled upon stenciled artwork and then shirts, which it then spawned from there.

What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
Making stencils is high up there. I can do that all day if stencils could provide me with food, shelter and health benefits.
But if I cannot answer with that, I would say traveling. I really love going to different places.

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your shop?
Defying my laziness and putting more time into it.
I already have a full time job so putting time into my shop can be hard.

What item in your shop would you most like to receive as a gift if someone were shopping for you?
One of my newest tshirt designs.
My bABE shirt

When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a Vet growing up. I love animals.

What other shops out there do you love?
There are too many

madelaine.etsy.com - photos
michelemaule.etsy.com - artwork
themayofteckclub.etsy.com - artwork (I LOVER her egg shell etchings!!)
moop.etsy.com - I just bought one of their bags
morganjesse.etsy.com - collage artwork
matty8080.etsy.com - artwork

and really so much more!

What does your future hold?
I'm not very structured when it comes to my future.
All I want is to be happy and content with whatever I may be doing.
