Tell me about how you originally got into your craft, Michelle.
Well, I've always enjoyed making art, and didn't really know what else to do with myself. I tried taking graphic design classes, and I tried taking interior design classes, but at the end of the day I just wasn't interested in any of those things.
I also failed them miserably.
I knew I wanted to do something creative with my life, but I just didn't know how. So, I just continued to take art classes in college. People would tell me that there is no money in art, and well, they are kinda right, but I had so much fun taking my art courses! I also made a lot of friends, and met some amazing people.
Before I knew it, I had a BA in art and that was that!
What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
Drink a really good so latte and do the New York Times crossword with my partner, Michael.
What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your shop?
Pricing.
I never know if I am charging too much or too little.
I think most people have this problem, however.
What item in your shop would you most like to receive as a gift if someone were shopping for you?
Probably one of my typewriter prints.
I love vintage typewriters and I dream of starting a collection of them!
When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
When I was 5 I wanted to be Wonder Woman!
As I got older I thought about being a veterinarian, or a pre-school teacher.
What other shops out there do you love?
Oh there are just so many.
I am totally in love with Jill Bliss's work.
I also love Betsy Walton
and Brenda Rose
What does your future hold?
Hmmmm....
Well, I am going to be moving back home to Portland, Oregon this May! I am really excited! Hopefully I will be able to continue being a working artist there and supply all of the cute little shops and galleries with my work.
Maybe world domination too. We'll see. I don't know if I'll have time.

I absolutely LOVE the print that you have featured. I love all of her work in her etsy shop, but "Friend" just tugs at my heart, since I have a red wool coat and a little boston terrier. I think I'm going to buy it!
