YannPendaries Photography

French photographer Yann of YannPendaries Photography sells original, numbered and signed, photographic art. The shop carries mostly pictures taken by Yann for personal pleasure when traveling abroad or wandering around Paris, though some are part of bigger projects.

Yann also collaborates on a series of pictures that were drawn over by Marie of malam.etsy.com, called the "Waiting" series that are really quite intriguing. (Check out the interview with Marie here.)

Yann, tell me about how you originally got into your craft.
I have always liked photography, even when I was little. After working in many different areas, I decided to take the plunge and start in this particular area, with many personal projects, such as a tribute to great photographers from the Post-War era, where I reconstituted some scenes from 1947. Ever since, I have been working as a professional photographer in Paris, and work for many different customers for studio shoots, photo reports.... and keep a little time for my personal photography projects.

What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
Doing photos of course!

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your shop?
I don't really meet any specific challenge, since this is only part of my primary activity. The only "challenge" will be with shipping delays, because for each order, I need to go to the laboratory to get prints made, and this usually takes 2-3 days.

What item in your shop would you most like to receive as a gift if someone were shopping for you?
I love many of them, but one of my preferred photographs is The Border

When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
I already wanted to work as a photographer. Isn't that luck that I managed to fulfill my dream?

What other shops out there do you love?
There is so much art to see, in so many different forms... For example, I love

to me, her art is somewhere in between dreams and poetry

ThisYearsGirl I like the harmonious mix between drawings and photography...

whose little character goes around the world, telling us a new story with each print

pinkytoast I love her style, and feelings are so well expressed in the drawings

esoule This photographer makes us enter the world of toys which become items of another time, and this is what I like.

malam I am probably biased, but I love most of what she does!!

And so many more!!!!

What does your future hold?
Hopefully, being able to keep doing what I do for ever!
