Free Pankcakes for Charity!!!

I love IHOP. I just do. We moved to a neighborhood with an IHOP this year, and it has been both wonderful and terrible. I hadn't lived near one in years. I had forgotten how wonderful they are. Now we're hooked. Yum.

And I just saw this post from Tightwad Tod. Oh man. I am so there.

In my constant quest to sniff out a bargain, I've found another date to circle on your calendar: Feb. 24. That's when IHOP will be serving free pancakes to customers who stop in at any of its 1,400 of its restaurants located from coast to coast. There is no minimum purchase requirement.

This is the fourth year in a row that IHOP is celebrating National Pancake Day, according to company spokesman Dan Ischy. Last year, the chain doled out an estimated 1.5 million free flapjacks to hungry customers and, at the same time, raised around $875,000 for children's charities, Ischy said. This year's goal is to raise $1 million. While the pancakes are free, the company is requesting people make a small donation to the Children's Miracle Network or another local charity. But you're not obligated to make a donation.
