Country Windows

countrywindows.etsy.com carries prints of photographs taken over several years by the artist. Steve specializes in photographing places that are off the road and hard to get to. He also makes recycled barnwood frames sold by themselves or with a print in them.

Tell me about how you originally got into your craft, Steve.
I started several years ago, selling my barnwood frames with prints I had purchased online or at stores.I sold them at craft shows. So many people would ask me if I had taken the photographs,so of course I would say, I wish I would have. Then I said to self, I need to start taking my own and selling only my photographs that I had taken.

What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
Being a outdoors person, I love to fish, hunt, and of course take photographs.

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your shop?
My biggest challenge to running my shop, is to keep enough photographs that are different than other shops.I'm trying to take more winter pictures, if we could keep snow on the ground.

What item in your shop would you most like to receive as a gift if someone were shopping for you?
Not to brag too much, but I would hang any photograph on my walls at home.

When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
I had always wanted to be highway patrol when I grew up.When I was in high school, I did talk to a highway patrolman that my dad grew up with. At the time you had to be six foot tall and I was only 5'10, things have changed now with all the discrimination rules. I did try and sign up for a military police in the air force, but they had too many at the time.

What other shops out there do you love?
Don't tell nobody, but I do shop a bit on ebay or what people call sometimed feebay. I do shop online at alot of sporting goods stores too.

What does your future hold?
I hope one day that my future sees my photographs in a well know magazine.
