Tell me about how you originally got into your craft.
I've always loved glass, and I did mosaics and stained glass for a while. I've always thought fused glass was fascinating, though, and several months ago, I saved up enough for a small kiln. I played around for a while, learning to use it, and blew up quite a few pieces before figuring things out. I started making jewelry just for me, and people started noticing it. I sold a few pieces to a local consignment shop, and decided I enjoyed seeing people wear things I've made, so I started looking for more places to sell my work.

What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
Fuse glass! And play with my two kitties and my puppy.

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your shop?
Promotion. It's really hard to brag about my own work! I also find photography a bit challenging. Glass is difficult to photograph properly. But I know both are worth it in the end!

What item in your shop would you most like to receive as a gift if someone were shopping for you?
Probably this Blue Spiral Dichroic pendant. I really like everything about this one, it fits my style!

When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
Not an artist! I always thought I would be a scientist or doctor or something. Until I got to chemistry in college! At that point, I mainly wanted to do something that would let me be creative and let me be my own boss. My little fused glass business is well on it's way to letting me do that.

What other shops out there do you love?
I love Tofu Nutloaf's robot creatures. They're so quirky and cute! MLO Artwear is pretty neat too.

What does your future hold?
My idea of the future changes constantly. I hope, one day, that I'll be able to do my artwork full time.

Ms. Chandler is currently featuring her Four Pink Flowers pendant, which is really just adorable. You should definitely go have a look. I am not at all biased by the fact that she is from my hometown either.
