Velvet and Rust

Velvet and Rust carries a mixture of diverse items such as mixed media collage, revamped jewels and clothing, vintage found objects, aceo prints, and more! Izabella Pierce, the artist behind the shop lives in Las Vegas and works her magic in an art studio she calls “the dungeon” (a wine cellar, converted to work space).

Tell me about how you originally got into your craft.
My journey in discovering collage began in the last few years. I came across a magazine called "Somerset" which I had never seen before. It contained an article about an artist named Keith Lo Bue. I read that article in pure amazement, I never knew this kind of art even existed. It was the most amazing art I have ever seen! His art is eerie & hauntingly archaeological, historical, small scale assemblage/jewelry. His pieces are like "Little vapours of memories" an exact quote from Mr. Lo Bue.
After viewing his website, it was like an awakening for if I had been in a deep slumber all these years! His art moved me to take deep reflection on life in general. I then came to the conclusion, "I have to create!" from there, my new life began...
