Dadadreams offers curious collage creations combining a precisely calculated mix of color, retro, kitsch, humor, and fun. I had so much fun going through this shop for this interview, I can't even tell you!

Tell me about how you originally got into your craft.
I've always had a love affair with paper. Paper is my creative airplane. It gives my imagination wings.

What is your favorite thing to do in the whole wide world?
My favorite thing to do is play. To me, play can be anything...creating a collage, hiking in the woods, reading a great book, going to a carnival.

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to running your shop?
I love to do custom orders but they can be quite a challenge at times. Since I work with found images instead of something I drew, it can sometimes be tricky to find exactly what the customer wants. Have you ever tried finding images of a purple elephant eating an ice cream sundae with 2 cherries on top?

What item in your shop would you most like to receive as a gift if someone were shopping for you?
If I didn't already own one, I'd say a story bracelet. Each bracelet tells a complete story in 7 panels. They're great conversation pieces. Whenever I wear mine people always ask me to take it off so they can read the story.

When you were a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
A doctor. Instead of cutting and stitching humans, I cut and paste paper, so I guess I achieved my goal in a way.

What other shops out there do you love?
I have so many favorite Etsy shops. Here are a few that I especially love:
Artworkbyimelda...amazing original ACEOs.
stOOpidgErL...awesome resin jewelry and super fun photography.
viviennestrauss and vivstrauss...wonderful collages and fabulous paintings.

What does your future hold?
I'm not sure but I love fun surprises. It will probably include more collages though.
